Locums General Surgery coverage in Idaho with a predictable clinic-based weekday schedule plus call from home at a 25 bed critical access hospital with stabilize and transfer support for higher acuity trauma.
Highlights
- Fast credentialing, as quick as 5-7 days for clean candidates
- Block coverage pattern, two weeks on, two weeks off, then two weeks on
- CRNA anesthesia coverage 24/7 within 15 minutes
- Call is taken off site, you just need to stay within 25 minutes of the facility
Practice Setting
- 25 bed critical access hospital, mix of inpatient and outpatient general surgery
- Stabilize and transfer model, serious trauma routed to Level II Boise or St. Luke's Boise and Meridian
- Case mix includes general surgery, light trauma, and endoscopy
- Support staff includes a typical crew of 2, anesthesia covered by CRNAs
Schedule
- Weekday clinic hours are 8am to 5pm
- Call from home, no requirement to remain on site while on call
- Coverage starts ASAP with an estimated start date of 2026-11-09
- One day of orientation required
Cases and Procedures
- Upper and lower endoscopy, screening and diagnostic
- Laparoscopic and open appendectomy, laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy
- Hernia repair, inguinal, ventral, incisional
- Exploratory and diagnostic laparotomy, hemorrhoidectomy, excisional procedures
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years in Surgery
- Active Idaho license required, will not wait for license
- BLS required
