Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position is based in Kansas City, MO, offering the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care within a specialized unit.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 23
- Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5
- Unit Staffing: Includes Unit Secretary and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Equipment Used: Traction, fixators, cooling equipment
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 shifts of 12 hours and 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
- Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float to other medical-surgical level care units
- Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report and hourly rounding
Qualifications
- Required Skills:
- Current RN license
- BLS certification
- Ortho experience
- Telemetry experience
- NIH Stroke Scale knowledge
- Procedures Performed on Unit:
- Post-operative care for knee, hip, and shoulder replacements
- Trauma patient care
- Some neuro overflow management
Dress Code
Required uniform: Navy scrubs
