Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Ortho Neuro)
Location
Fort Worth, TX | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 4 weekends per 4-week period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Ortho Neuro Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
- Care for post-operative patients following procedures such as total knees, total hips, laminectomies, fusions, ORIF, ACDF, and VP shunt revisions
- Utilize and document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
- Assist with and monitor the use of spine and orthopedic bracing equipment
- Float to Med Surg areas as needed based on census
- Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented unit environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas or compact eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Meditech EMR experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- BLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Spine and/or orthopedic nursing background
- Relevant specialty certification (e.g., CMSRN or orthopedic certification)
- Experience with post-operative care for procedures such as total joint replacements or spinal surgeries
