Contract | Night Shift | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Labor and Delivery unit serving low- and high-risk patients across a triage, LDR, OR, NICU, and post-partum setting
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and manage high-risk obstetric patients
- Apply external fetal monitoring; recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using advanced fetal monitoring techniques and the CMQCC Category II algorithm
- Circulate for C-sections as required
- Float to Perinatal unit as needed; be available for on-call shifts (expected approximately 2 on-call shifts per month in addition to scheduled shifts)
- Utilize unit systems including SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk patients; knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm and advanced fetal monitoring
- Active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications required at submission
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam (80% minimum passing score; two attempts permitted) prior to start
- Must be willing to work most holidays and 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday); no more than 3 days RTO for the duration of the contract
- Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume OB unit with access to OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
- Familiarity with a multi-acuity patient population including neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are eligible to apply
