Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | On-call rotation required
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary RN Circulator for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure, EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, and Circulatory Arrest
- Ensure all cases are appropriately staffed with one scrub and one circulator; pump cases additionally require a first assist or Heart Holder (RN or CST)
- Operate and maintain Stryker equipment and document patient care using the Cerner electronic documentation system
- Participate in assigned and rotated on-call shifts as required by unit scheduling
- Adhere to hospital surgical attire policy; scrubs are provided by the facility
- Float to other areas infrequently as needed based on unit demands
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (must be valid for practice in North Carolina)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience with extensive expertise in the RN Circulator role
- No first-time travelers — prior travel nursing experience is required; no exceptions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Scrub and/or first assist experience and proficiency in cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record documentation
- Experience with Stryker surgical equipment
