A leading steel fabrication company in Wathena is seeking a Machine Operator to join its team. If you have experience with CNC machinery and enjoy working in a hands-on, industrial environment, this opportunity could be a great fit.
Position Summary:
As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC and shop equipment used in steel fabrication. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, program, and maintain CNC and other shop equipment
Clean, inspect, and monitor machinery for optimal performance
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Measure, mark, and stamp steel materials with precision
Perform basic math calculations for accurate cuts and measurements
Safely handle materials and assist with general shop tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Prior experience operating CNC equipment is required
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of experience in steel fabrication or construction preferred
Equivalent hands-on experience or technical training will be considered
Ability to read blueprints and follow production plans
Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th
