Job Summary
Yale New Haven Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a travel assignment. The nurse will provide emergency care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and may float to other campuses or the ED Observation Unit based on facility needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and care for patients with a wide range of emergency and critical conditions.
- Provide care for trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies.
- Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, administer medications and blood products, and manage central lines.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, obtain 12-lead EKGs, and respond to emergencies.
- Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, IV sedation, vasopressors, or other critical interventions.
- Float within scope to other campuses and the ED Observation Unit as needed.
Requirements
- 2 years of ED experience preferred. Candidates with at least 1.5 years from a similar hospital may be considered.
- Level I Trauma experience required.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC. TNS may be accepted as a substitute for TNCC.
- Epic experience preferred.
- Teaching or community hospital experience preferred.
- Travel experience is not required by the general requirements, though the job overview states first-time travelers are not accepted. Confirm eligibility with the recruiter.
- Pending license may be accepted, but an active license is required before starting.
