Registered Nurse – MS/Detox (Rapid Response Travel RN)

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 8-Week Assignment | Rapid Response – Must be available to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 13-bed Detox unit serving an adult to geriatric population (ages 18+) with diagnoses including substance abuse, polysubstance abuse, ETOH dependency, seizures, hypertension, liver disease, high fall risk, and underlying behavioral conditions
- Administer and monitor treatment protocols including valium tapers, Subutex, Vivitrol, banana bags, rescue medications, and routine/home medications
- Perform and maintain IV access; assist with bedside procedures such as PICC lines and midlines as needed
- Conduct bedside shift reports, briefs, debriefs, and unit checks in accordance with facility standards; complete all required audits and processes within the contract period
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:7; may be required to float to other departments on an as-needed basis (not a standard expectation)
- All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start date; results are required before starting.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure valid to practice in the state of Tennessee
- Minimum Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (Handle With Care certification will be required after hire)
- 1+ year of RN experience; ER experience will be considered in lieu of Detox experience
- Proficiency with IV pumps, Zoll monitor, and IV catheters; EHR experience (HMS/Medhost a plus)
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5+ years of RN experience (minimum 3+ years considered)
- Experience with CIWA and COWS assessment protocols
- Experience assisting with bedside procedures such as PICC lines and midlines
- Background in medical-surgical or emergency department nursing
