Job Summary
Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides direct care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced acute care setting. The role supports complex patient populations, including adults and pediatric patients older than 15 years, and requires strong critical-thinking, collaboration, and critical-care nursing skills.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two years of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; active nursing license required for submission.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include caring for critically ill patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, renal failure, surgical complications, gastrointestinal bleeding, and cancer-related surgical conditions. The role requires titration of vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmic medications; interpretation of centralized telemetry monitoring; and management of respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators. Two unit-specific orientation shifts are provided. Navy blue scrubs are required, and weekend and holiday coverage is required based on unit needs.
