Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surge.TELE
Job Description
The Med/Surge.TELE unit is primarily focused on surgical patients. The ideal candidate should possess experience in managing postoperative patients, including those from orthopedic, gynecological, urology, and general surgical procedures.
Schedule
- Every other weekend is required.
- Employee must work one evening during major holidays, specifically Christmas or New Year's, as well as one holiday during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's, based on unit needs.
- Floating to other units may be required depending on staffing needs.
Unit Information
This is a 20-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4 or 5 to 1. For a full census, the staff consists of 5 RNs and 2 nursing assistants.
Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate care required by assigned patients under the direction of the licensed physician.
- Possess knowledge about principles, theories, current methods, and techniques of nursing practice.
- Utilize the nursing process to collaborate with patients, their families, professional peers, and other health care team members to tailor patient care.
- Direct nursing support staff in providing patient care in accordance with nursing practice standards and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in the area of clinical specialty is preferred.
- Licenses: PA Registered Nurse License is required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification is required. A Multi-State Compact RN License is also required.
