Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Contract | Days (0700–1930) | 3×12-hour shifts | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care across Cardiac Telemetry and Medical-Surgical Telemetry units, floating to multiple inpatient units as needed to support varying census and acuity levels
- Manage a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and congestive heart failure, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, 1:5, or 1:6 depending on acuity
- Perform and interpret cardiac telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG acquisition; administer blood and blood products as ordered
- Manage complex equipment and lines including CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, PICC lines, central lines, PCA pumps, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound vac therapy
- Administer and titrate IV medications and drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem (Diltiazem), Milrinone, Nitroglycerin, and Heparin in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and ancillary staff, including CNAs, to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes across all supported units
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for post-operative patients, including bariatric surgery and orthopedic populations
- Familiarity with Aquablation procedure patients and complex multi-comorbidity management
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly across multiple units and patient populations in a float pool environment
- Strong clinical judgment in stroke and cardiac patient management
