Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry-Neuro unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on night shift
- Manage and titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives as required by patient condition
- Care for patients presenting with diagnoses such as CHF, hypertension, chest pain, COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
- Monitor and co-sign telemetry strips in collaboration with telemetry technicians who provide 24/7 monitoring coverage
- Support and manage patients requiring respiratory equipment including CPAP, HFNC, and NRB
- Float within the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Experience with cardiac drips and post cath lab patient care
- Ability and competency to titrate drips independently
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
- Must be physically present in state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Experience caring for neurological patient populations
- Comfort with float pool assignments across Med/Surg and Telemetry units
