Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) with variable night availability (19:00–7:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting within a teaching hospital environment
- Perform and monitor Conscious Sedation, Intracranial Pressure (ICP) management, Telemetry, and Ventilator management
- Maintain and manage Central Line Care in accordance with facility protocols
- Float to other facilities within the health system as needed, provided requisite job specifications are met
- Complete non-billable orientation modules prior to start and annually as required by unit, specialty, and position
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License — must be in hand at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum 2 years of PICU or relevant clinical experience
- Teaching hospital experience required
- 2 references from most recent employer required at time of submittal
- Any prior employment with a University of California medical facility or affiliated facility must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- Local candidates are welcome and are subject to the same requirements as travel candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CCRN certification
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- Experience with Stem Cell / Bone Marrow Transplant patients
