Job Description
The 3 East Medical-Surgical Unit at Temple University Hospital provides comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical-surgical diagnoses, including post-surgical cases. The Registered Nurse (RN) will play a critical role in delivering safe, evidence-based patient care, coordinating interdisciplinary treatment plans, and supporting patients throughout their hospitalization and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients.
- Provide care for post-operative patients and manage a variety of medical-surgical diagnoses.
- Administer medications, blood products, and therapeutic treatments safely and accurately.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring and cardiac assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality initiatives, and patient safety standards.
Required Experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in a Medical-Surgical setting preferred.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and post-operative patient care.
- Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
