Job Summary
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor position for a day-shift assignment supporting adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical orthopedic setting. The role manages orthopedic and neurology patient populations, including postoperative neurosurgical care, orthopedic trauma, stroke-related conditions, and total joint replacement patients. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration and centralized telemetry monitoring.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; at least one year of experience; recent Epic charting experience within the past six months; state or Compact license in hand at submission; experience caring for adult and geriatric patients; competency in cerebrovascular accident care, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, medical-surgical care, nasal cannula use, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care and management, substance withdrawal, total joint replacement, traumatic brain injury, and wound care or wound vacuum management.
- Schedule: Day shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The position supports an orthopedic and neurology patient population with a patient ratio of approximately 5:1. Clinical responsibilities may include preoperative and postoperative neurosurgical care, orthopedic trauma care, mood disorder care, peripheral nerve block catheter management, and telemetry-monitored patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. Assignment dates are 11/16/2026 through 02/15/2027.
