Job Summary
Operating Room Open Heart: This registered nurse position supports cardiovascular surgical procedures in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include circulating for open-heart and other surgical cases, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, thoracic procedures, robotic lung procedures, and aneurysm cases.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 1 year of experience; ability to circulate outside the cardiovascular operating room, including cesarean section procedures.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Typical weekday schedule is 7:00 a.m.3:30 p.m., with occasional coverage until 5:30 p.m.; call responsibilities may include 1015 days per month, including weekends and rotating holidays, with a 30-minute response time.
- Additional Information: The role supports a team-based operating room environment with procedures that vary by week. Scrubbing is not required for registered nurses. Orientation may be provided for up to one week.
