Assignment Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele for a travel assignment in a 35-bed unit. The ideal candidate will have experience with general Med/Surg patients, including those with stroke, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, post-surgical needs, and behavioral health diagnoses. This role requires teamwork skills and adaptability, with a preference for those willing to float within designated units as needed.
Assignment Details
- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2160 (negotiable)
- Shift times: 0700-1900 and 1900-0700
- Weekend rotation: Every other
- Holiday expectations: Work 75% of holidays
- Orientation: NEO, 2 days departmental
Responsibilities
- Provide post-op care and manage orthopedic cases
- Perform NIH assessments and manage stroke patients
- Administer cardiac drips and manage medication infusions
- Conduct chest tube management and trach care
- Start PIVs and manage NGT placement
- Ensure proper wound care and drain/tube management
Qualifications
Required:
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification
- 18 months Med/Tele RN experience
- Skills in stroke experience, chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Experience with EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell systems
