ICU Registered Nurse (MICU) – Nights

Contract | Night Shift | Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours/week expected
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU serving adult patients with diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
- Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity ICU patients
- Read and interpret telemetry strips as required for ICU and float assignments
- Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients at a 1:4 or 1:5 ratio
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
- Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN License required (Conditional MA RN License accepted)
- AHA BLS certification required
- AHA ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required
- Telemetry competency required; must be able to read telemetry strips
- Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or large community hospital setting
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR charting system
- Experience managing high-acuity diagnoses such as Sepsis, Cardiogenic Shock, or Respiratory Failure
