Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts (shift start 6:45 AM/PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation with staff
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across a high-acuity LDRP unit encompassing Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby, antepartum, and postpartum care — expected to manage all aspects of patient care from start to finish
- Circulate C-sections in one of two OR suites located on the unit; all RNs are required to be able to circulate cesarean sections
- Titrate drips including Pitocin and manage patients with common OB diagnoses such as preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, hypertension, and cesarean sections
- Read and interpret EKG strips for patients in PACU; utilize GE Corometric monitors with Fetalink surveillance for electronic fetal monitoring
- Float to Mother-Baby as needed; occasional mid-shift float to other area facilities is possible though rare
- Fulfill NRP/Baby Catcher role as assigned for an entire shift when staffing requires
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Must be comfortable in all aspects of LDRP care including high-risk obstetrics and C-section circulation
Preferred Experience / Skills
- STABLE certification preferred
- Experience with titratable OB drips, including Pitocin
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines and high-volume birth settings (unit averages 140–165 births per month)
- Prior experience in a combined LDRP or high-risk OB environment
