Key Responsibilities
- Provide ICU-level nursing care across two campuses approximately 13 miles apart as part of a float pool assignment
- Adapt to varying patient care settings including Step-Down, Telemetry, and Med-Surg units based on operational needs
- Maintain flexibility with scheduling, including availability on holidays and weekends as determined by operational needs
- Monitor and respond to work-related communications, including emails, in a timely manner
- Complete required onboarding modules, including UC Learning Center and EpicU training, during orientation
- Obtain and maintain a CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute — MAB or Online CPI Blue certification not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid California State RN License required and must be in-hand at time of application — EMSA not accepted
- All required certifications must be in-hand at time of application
- CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required for all Float Pool nurses — must be in-hand when applying
- EPIC experience required and must be documented in work history
- Two (2) supervisor references required at time of application
- No Nursys or background hits accepted
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of assignment; up to 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
- Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
- Familiarity with Step-Down, Telemetry, or Med-Surg care settings in addition to ICU
- Strong adaptability and communication skills in fast-paced, high-acuity settings
