Job Summary:
Provide direct patient care to patients in the Maternal Child Health department
Collaborate with unit leadership and follow nursing governing body guidelines (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and families
Care for patients with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex
Quickly recognize normal and abnormal patient parameters and conditions
Develop and prioritize care plans using a person-centered care approach
Involve patients and families in care goal setting
Demonstrate critical thinking and make appropriate clinical decisions in both planned and unplanned situations
Maintain competence in technical nursing skills specific to maternal and child health
Stay current with hospital policies, procedures, and standards
Serve as a resource to peers and support team collaboration
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary health team members as needed
Facilitate connections between patients, families, and additional hospital services
Labor and delivery experience required; postpartum experience preferred
Participate in rotational floating to other hospital departments as needed (e.g., L&D OR/PACU, Postpartum, NICU)
Work schedule is based on unit needs; no guaranteed block scheduling; weekend and day-of-week flexibility required
Med Ninjas Job ID #22123. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
