- Weekly Salary Range: $1680 - $1800 per week (estimated)
Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13-16 weeks (start dates: 10/20/2025 or 11/3/2025)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: LAC Resource Team – Med/Surg Oncology
- Orientation: Every other Monday
- Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month (as needed)
- Employment Type: Travel nursing
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (required at time of application)
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Prior travel RN experience required
- BLS certification (required); ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- All requested time off must be submitted with your application
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care on the Med/Surg Oncology unit
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and accurately document care using Cerner EMR
- Float to other hospital units as needed to support facility staffing requirements
- Work 2-3 weekends per month as scheduled
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training to maintain best practices in nursing care
