Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15). Weekend coverage required every third weekend, with a minimum of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery is responsible for providing high-quality care to obstetrical patients. The unit operates at a fast pace, handling a high volume of births and high-risk cases. Nurses must demonstrate critical thinking and strong clinical skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage labor and delivery processes, including triage of obstetrical patients.
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and circulate for C-sections.
- Provide antepartum and postpartum care for high-risk patients.
- Administer IV therapy, pain management, and other necessary procedures.
- Monitor fetal and maternal vitals and respond to emergencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high patient care standards.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or a similar high-volume setting. Preference for 3 years.
- Certifications: BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP are required.
- Experience with over 300 births per month is required.
- Skills in circulating for C-sections and immediate newborn care are preferred.
