Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg Tele
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48-hour contracts available upon request)
• 13-week contract length with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday required
• Float requirement: first to float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown campus (8 miles) and potential float to Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float, mid-shift float within same campus possible
• Patient ratio: nights 1:6-7, charge nurse takes assignment on all shifts
• Care for complex Med/Surg/Tele patients including post-cardiac caths, CVA/TIA, ICD patients, complex abdominal surgeries, oncology, and cranial post-op day 2
• Required certifications: current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong Tele/Med/Surg experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with checkoff class
• Must pass tele tests and demonstrate strong neuro assessment skills
• Required skills: NIHSS/dysphagia screening, tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, initiate/titrate drips (insulin, cardiac, heparin), heart cath recovery
• Preferred skills: NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, chest tubes
• Navy blue scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting of students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• 3 call-ins can result in termination
