Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with option to work 48 hours upon request
• 13-week contract length with bi-weekly orientation starting 1/12
• Three weekends required out of every six-week schedule
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float requirement: first to float within skillset to Deaconess Newburgh (8 miles) and potentially Deaconess Henderson, KY (11 miles)
• 2-hour notice given for cross-campus float assignments
• Mid-shift float possible within same campus
• Work in Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown caring for high acuity telemetry/medical-surgical patients
• Patient population includes cardiac conditions (AFib with RVR, AFib, flutter, blocks), heart catheterizations without interventions, CHF, COPD, sepsis, behavioral health/CIWA, post-ablations, and dialysis patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-7 on night shifts
• 32-bed unit with excellent staff retention and experienced team
• Required certifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years strong cardiac/telemetry experience, 1 travel assignment, and trauma level II experience required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required with mandatory checkoff class
• Must pass telemetry tests and demonstrate 12-lead EKG interpretation skills
• Skills include initiating/titrating drips, PIV insertion, chest tube management, CBI, stable drips, antidysrhythmic medications, and nephrostomy tube care
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required
• Scrubs required with no competing health system or agency logos
• May require precepting students and new hires in teaching hospital environment
• Associate degree or certificate required
• Clinical interview required
