Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide medical-surgical level care to adult patients (18+) in an acute care setting. This contract role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility with scheduling, and the ability to float to other units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive med-surg nursing care to adult patients
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols
- Manage patients with wound vacs, chest tubes, and other acute care equipment
- Document patient care accurately using the electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care
- Float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as required
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

- Bed count: Approximately 50 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

- Additional equipment: Wound vacs, chest tubes
Orientation & Training
- Department-specific orientation included during the first week
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active State RN license (must be valid by assignment start)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg or higher-acuity experience
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Ability to work variable shifts and days with no guarantee of shift preference
Additional Information
- Holiday coverage: Required
- No holiday RTO requests accepted
- Bilingual: Not required
- Dress code: Professional nursing attire; no specific scrub color required; closed-toe shoes
- Proof of immunity required; medical or religious exemptions not accepted
