Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a day shift contract assignment in Hawaii. This opportunity is ideal for a nurse who excels in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency department and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The Emergency Department includes:
- 28 total beds
- 4 trauma bays
- 2 behavioral health rooms
- 22 cardiac monitor rooms
This unit experiences rapid patient turnover and requires strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups
- Perform rapid triage, assessments, and emergency interventions
- Assist with trauma and high-acuity cases
- Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes
Schedule Requirements
- Day shifts
- 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly)
- No guaranteed hours
- Holiday coverage may be required
Qualifications
- Active Hawaii RN license (must be obtained prior to start of assignment)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience
- Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume emergency setting
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Preferred Certifications:
- Procedural Sedation
- TNCC
- ENPC
Additional Information
- Candidates must arrive the Thursday prior to start date for employee health clearance on Friday.
- All onboarding and compliance requirements must be completed before assignment begins.
