Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day/night variable shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract assignment
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units with appropriate patient assignments
• Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum callback
• Nurse to patient ratio: day/PM 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5-7
• Fast-paced post-surgical unit averaging 10-15 admissions per day
• Provide care for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients
• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius of facility
• 2+ years Med Surg experience required
• Recent hospital experience and trauma level II experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License and BLS
• Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred
• Must demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize patient care based on acuity
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit with 90-95% occupancy during the week and an average length of stay of 2-3 days. The unit provides comprehensive care along a continuum for pre and post-surgical patients, maintaining high patient turnover in a fast-paced environment. The organization emphasizes teamwork and prioritized patient care based on acuity levels, offering a dynamic healthcare environment for nursing professionals.
