Position Summary:
The Nurse Preceptor position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant nursing experience. The Preceptor may oversee up to two nurses at a time and will be responsible for teaching, guiding, and mentoring newly onboarded RNs during their orientation period. In this role, the Preceptor will train incoming nurses on clinical concepts, support their transition into the unit, and ensure safe practice by preventing errors on the floor. The Nurse Preceptor will report directly to the onsite Nurse ED.
Key Responsibilities:
- Minimum of two (2) years of Maternal and Child Health experience
- Provide care in Maternal and Child Health clinical settings
- Perform IV insertions and Phlebotomy procedures as part of patient care
- Administer and monitor patients under Conscious Sedation in accordance with clinical protocols
Required Qualifications:
- BLS Certification - AHA
- PALS Certification - AHA
- NY State RN License
- COVID Card
