Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. Job Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments, develop plans, delegate tasks, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients while serving as a primary nurse or accountable nurse as assigned.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources.
- Administer medications safely and effectively according to hospital policies, using a thorough understanding of pharmacology.
- Share responsibility for productivity and efficient resource management focusing on staffing, time management, and supply usage.
- Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and established policies.
- Actively participate in Nursing Shared Governance by supporting unit council initiatives and contributing to peer review practices.
- Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education while fulfilling all mandatory educational requirements.
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
- Perform duties as assigned related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.

- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
- Unit-specific requirements as listed in the Compliance Matrix must be validated prior to candidate submission.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
Schedule Notes
Shift: Nights (7pm-7am), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required. The department comprises 70% medical and 30% behavioral health. Experience in emergency and psychiatric nursing is required, particularly in substance use and crisis intervention. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, ENPC, and TNCC.
