🏥 Travel RN – ICU / PCU / Med-Surg Float | Critical Access Hospital (CAH)

- Unit Size: 25 Beds
- Primary Assignment: ICU / PCU
- Floating Requirement: Must be willing and competent to float to Med-Surg as needed
- Shift: Days
📋 Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Washington (WA) RN License – ACTIVE and in hand at submission
Experience Requirements
- Strong recent experience in:
- Must be comfortable working across all patient acuity levels in a small rural hospital setting
- Previous float experience strongly preferred
🩺 Clinical Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Identify patient and family educational needs
- Provide education using appropriate teaching methods
- Ensure patient safety through preventative measures and interventions
Safety & Compliance
- Follow restraint policies correctly
- Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Utilize standard precautions at all times
- Maintain patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance
Documentation
- Complete accurate and timely nursing documentation
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Process physician orders promptly
- Complete 24-hour chart/order checks when assigned
- Ensure accurate charge capture and documentation
Communication
- Provide complete and accurate shift handoff reports
- Communicate effectively with physicians and ancillary departments
- Report critical lab values according to policy and timelines
🏥 Equipment & Clinical Skills
Must demonstrate knowledge of:
- ICU equipment
- PCU/Telemetry equipment
- Med-Surg equipment
- Cardiac monitoring systems
- Troubleshooting clinical equipment
- Accessing equipment manuals and repair procedures when needed
🧰 Unit Operations
- Maintain emergency/crash carts
- Restock patient care and emergency supplies
- Support unit readiness and operational efficiency
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- Active WA RN License
- ICU + PCU + Med-Surg experience
- Comfortable floating between units
- Strong assessment and prioritization skills
- Experienced with telemetry monitoring
- Skilled in patient/family education
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Adaptable to a Critical Access Hospital environment
