Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Level 4 NICU will provide comprehensive care for neonatal patients ranging from feeder-growers to complex ICU cases. This role requires a competent nurse who can independently manage both routine and complex care, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Responsibilities include making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments in adherence to established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
- Current BLS Certification required (AHA only).
- Current STABLE certification required from an approved course.
- Current NRP certification required.
- Valid RN License in the state of Texas or compact license.
