Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) Seattle, Washington. This role supports high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery services, including functioning in the Baby Nurse capacity during delivery and providing newborn care until transfer to post partum. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12 shift hours, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nursing license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); 2 years of experience in a high-acuity, high-pace environment; charting system experience is required (Epic noted); current supervisory references (minimum requirements for submission referenced in the posting)
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); AWHONN Advanced; AWHONN Intermediate
- Responsibilities/Clinical Focus (as described):
- Provide high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Perform Baby Nurse functions during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to post partum
- Circulate for C-section and provide newborn care including eyes and Vitamin K injections, thighs and newborn assessments (skills must be demonstrated/verified with submission)
- Support specified care activities including Advanced/High-Risk Antepartum, assistance with vaginal and Cesarean deliveries, and Neonatal Resuscitation
- Follow staffing and scheduling needs for the unit, with weekend and holiday coverage requirements as stated in the posting
- Certifications (as described): Proof of required certifications must be provided with submission, including BLS and NRP
- Float: Float rotation may be required (Post partum/Antepartum; may float to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby)
- Submission/Compliance (as described): Tier 3 travel compliance references required2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years during the compliance process and prior to start (can include Charge RNs/Lead Modules as noted); modules are completed pre-start and annually with completion tracked in Workramp transcripts
