Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of current cath lab experience, including cardiac, vascular, peripheral, and neuro intervention, for an acute care hospital in Bakersfield, CA.
Details
- Acute care hospital Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 5 suites: 2 dedicated to coronary cases, 1 for peripheral cases, 1 for vascular and neuro cases, and 1 for EP cases
- STEMI-receiving facility performing cardiac/coronary, vascular, peripheral, general IR, and neuro intervention procedures
- Cases are performed with 2 techs — one scrubs and one monitors hemodynamics; an RN performs conscious sedation, and a 4th team member (RN or tech) may assist depending on the case
- Daily caseload ranges from 10 to 22 cases across all suites
- Charting is done in Cerner
- Day shifts available in 10- or 12-hour increments; block scheduling on weekends is an option
- Weeknight call rotation of approximately once per week for inpatient and emergent cases
- Weekend call rotation of approximately one weekend per month, running from Friday evening through Monday morning (subject to change based on unit needs)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of current Cath Lab experience required
- Required certifications: ARRT, Fluoroscopy Permit, and BLS — RCIS and CCT credentials will not be accepted
- Proficiency with cardiac/coronary, vascular, peripheral, general IR, and neuro intervention procedures
- Must be comfortable with conscious and moderate sedation, procedural processes, airway management, cardiac drips (e.g., Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors), and balloon pumps
- License required if applicable — active state or compact (NLC) licensure required; pending licenses will not be accepted
- A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- A Lead Tech is responsible for room assignments within the lab
- A radiation badge is provided by the agency
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates previously working PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
