Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) Gainesville, Florida
The organization is seeking an OR RN for a 16-week assignment at an outpatient, multi-specialty surgical center featuring 10 operating rooms. Responsibilities include circulating in the operating room and supporting surgical teams across a variety of specialties. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift (7:30 AM 4:00 PM); variable start times; 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Required Qualifications: Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license at time of submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Minimum 3 years of RN circulator experience (adult and pediatric); Experience required in adult and pediatric orthopedics, urology, gynecology (GYN), and pediatrics; Strong circulating experience in orthopedic joints/general, robotics, trauma, and urology
- Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; experience with Epic (EPIC); Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) (not indicated); trauma level experience (as noted)
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Surgical scrubs are provided. Facial hair must comply with respirator guidelines. Permeable shoes are not allowed. All new RN starts are required to pass a specialty exam and an electrocardiogram (EKG) exam (mapping and interpretation), including the ability to identify lethal rhythms; failure may result in extended remedial training beyond day 2 of orientation. Review of rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended. Influenza vaccination is mandatory, with documentation required; the only valid exemption is a physician note documenting a reaction (egg allergy is not accepted).
