Job Summary:
This is an Emergency Room (ER) nursing position located in Gainesville, Florida, at a highly rated academic medical center with a high-volume emergency department. The role involves providing adult emergency care, working nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a schedule of 36 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.

- Required Qualifications: Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license at the time of submission, at least 3 years of emergency room nursing experience, with a minimum of 12 months within the last year in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facility or academic medical center. Recent experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility is essential. Certifications required at submission include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course - ENPC). Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred but not required. Recent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with EPIC must be listed in the submission packet.
- Additional Qualifications: All new RN starts must pass a specialty exam and an EKG exam (mapping and interpretation), with a minimum score of 80% on each exam and 100% identification of lethal rhythms, regardless of overall score. Failure to meet these requirements will lead to extended remedial training beyond Day 2 of orientation.
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of recent ER RN experience, including at least 12 months within the last year in a trauma or academic medical center environment.
- Float: Open to floating; flexibility is essential.
- Submission Requirements: Include facility type, EMR system, bed count, and at least one reference from the past 12 months.
- Screening: Candidates must pass both the specialty exam and EKG interpretation exam with a minimum score of 80% and demonstrate 100% identification of lethal rhythms.
- Experience Note: No work history gaps greater than 30 days without explanation.
- Restrictions: No RTO during the first 2 weeks; maximum of 10 days RTO for the 13-week contract.
