We are currently accepting applications for experienced Truck Operators for our Suffolk location. This is a full-time position and the ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience operating a tractor-trailer unit.
Job Location: Suffolk, VA
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operates units and associated equipment in a safe, responsible and professional manner.
- Follows and complies with all government legislation and internal policies & procedures.
- Participates in all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any job.
- Ensures proper load securement of all transported product and any other equipment.
- Responsible for safe food practices during transport, loading and offloading of product at different locations.
- Completes all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, while following all federal hours of service regulations.
- Ability to provide leadership and coaching to subordinates through coaching and mentoring.
- Completes job tasks with personal and public safety as the top priority.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma (GED or equivalent)
- Must have CDL - Class A license
- 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Valid Health Card
- Valid TWIC Card
- A clear understanding of various tractor trailer units and their operation
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Competitive pay per mile along with drop off/pick up pay.
Safety Bonus potential up to $3500
