Contract | Nights | 4x12 Hours (19:00–07:00) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Medical ICU setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity
- Manage complex critical care patients including those with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory failure/shock, multi-organ failure, and post cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management
- Support and monitor patients undergoing advanced interventions including CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella, and pre-VAD workups
- Care for patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal and overdose in accordance with facility protocols
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and patient census
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU/MICU experience required
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support devices (ECMO, Impella, IABP)
- Familiarity with CRRT and EKOS therapies in a critical care environment
- Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
