Registered Nurse (RN), RN-Medsurg | Travel | Neuro MedSurg Acute Unit
Assignment Overview
Join our dedicated Neuro MedSurg Acute unit as a Registered Nurse (RN), where you will provide high-quality care to patients with conditions such as stroke, spine surgery, and brain tumors. This travel role requires an experienced RN with expertise in level 1 trauma and previous travel experience, ideally suited to those with a background in a dedicated neuro unit.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: 8/4/2025
- Location: Acute care setting
- Shift: 12-hour days, every other weekend, including Saturday and Sunday
- Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2565 (negotiable)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Number of Beds: 54 (2 semi-private)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Day shift 1:4-5, Nights 1:5-6
- Charge Nurse: Present 24/7, does not take assignments unless necessary
- Patient Care Techs: Yes, ratios vary by shift
- Floating Requirements: Float with the rest of the staff, with specific training for new units
Responsibilities
- Manage care for patients with neuroscience and some medical overflow conditions
- Titrate heparin drips and manage other titratable drips
- Participate in unit-specific and general orientation
- Maintain compliance with dress code and professional standards
Qualifications
Required:
- Active IL license or application in process
- BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Level 1 trauma experience
- Previous travel nursing experience and neuro unit experience
- Heparin gtt experience
