Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required, with current and consistent acute care experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
- Active compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
- Epic charting experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must be comfortable caring for critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity Surgical Intensive Care Unit
- No first-time travelers
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and expert critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with complex and rapidly changing conditions
- Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, shock, ARDS, stroke, intracranial hypertension, pneumonia, and delirium
- Perform and assist with advanced ICU interventions, including ventilator management, CRRT, vasopressor titration, and tracheostomy care
- Manage EVDs, ICP monitoring, massive transfusion protocols, and other specialized critical care therapies
- Administer medications and therapies safely, including blood products and continuous infusions
- Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, IV teams, radiology, pharmacy, therapy services, and rapid response resources
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team to support optimal patient outcomes
- Adapt quickly to unit priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and patient-centered care
