Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department serving approximately 14,000 patient visits per year
- Perform prompt triage and screening of patients upon arrival to determine severity of condition and appropriate course of treatment
- Collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers to deliver timely, high-quality emergency care
- Maintain readiness to work holiday blocks as scheduled; travelers are expected to work one holiday block (Christmas Eve/Day or New Year's Eve/Day, including the associated weekend) if needed
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with facility standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN license or valid Compact RN license — must be submitted with profile
- Active American Heart Association BLS — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active American Heart Association ACLS — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active American Heart Association PALS — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of current ED experience in a hospital setting
- Emergency Department Skills Checklist current within 1 year — required document
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment — required document
- Reliable personal vehicle required for this assignment
- All scheduling requests and requested time off (no more than 5 days) must be submitted at the time of profile upload; requests made after offer or during interview will not be approved
- Block scheduling will not be considered for this need
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 3 months of prior travel nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
