Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit serving an adult and geriatric population
- Manage common diagnoses including COPD exacerbation, GI bleed, diabetic complications, wound care, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, sepsis, infection, and end-of-life/hospice care
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6 and operate equipment including Baxter IV pumps, SCD machines, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and PCA pumps
- Document and manage patient records using Cerner EHR
- Float as needed to surgical, neuro, and intermediate units (accepting med/surg level patients)
- Work every other weekend; no call requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact State license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Proficiency with Cerner EHR
- Demonstrated IV competency
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered a travel candidate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Charge nurse experience
- Strong team player with a patient advocacy mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
