Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed telemetry unit with a 4:1 patient ratio, serving a generalized cardiac population ranging from young adults to elderly adults
- Monitor and manage patients with common diagnoses including chest pain, A-fib, CHF, and pre- and post-care for cardiac catheterizations (groin and radial approaches) and VATS
- Operate unit equipment including Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo monitoring devices
- Document patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
- Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment
- May occasionally float to IMCU, NPCU, and/or Surgical units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Proficiency with Life Pak, Zoll, and Masimo equipment
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered for travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
- Background in cardiac specialty nursing including experience with cardiac catheterization patient care
- Familiarity with IMCU or progressive care unit workflows
