Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours/week options available | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients within an inpatient Innovation Design Unit (IDU) that tests new models of care, innovative technology, and facility design concepts
- Practice within a primary nursing care model with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (days) and 1:5–6 (nights)
- Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs (where assigned)
- Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses, as traveler staff are first to float
- Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN state license — if license is not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
- Experience with IV drip management required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- First-time travelers not accepted; exceptions may be considered for candidates with 2 or more years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Experience working in a large academic medical center or Level I trauma environment
- Familiarity with progressive care or step-down level patients
- Comfort with emerging healthcare technology platforms such as virtual nursing, ambient monitoring, or interactive patient experience systems
