Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed acute care unit serving a diverse population, primarily General Surgery and Trauma patients
- Manage post-surgical patients, who comprise approximately 90% of the unit census, as well as patients with medical diagnoses
- Utilize cardiac monitoring, capnography/end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry available in all patient rooms
- Document and manage patient care using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Epic experience required
- BLS certification required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- References required
- Must adhere to facility float policy
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted per facility mileage rule)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- BSN preferred
- Experience in a surgical or trauma acute care setting
