Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting in accordance with facility protocols and scope of practice
- Participate in infant-driven feeding practices; Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period and 2 of 3 winter holidays
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned during onboarding
Required Qualifications
- Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification must be in hand at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be submitted with certification pending)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursys verification required at time of submission
- References required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU setting
- Familiarity with infant-driven feeding protocols
