Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients on a Telemetry/IMC/MedSurg unit
- Care for a mixed-acuity patient population with diagnoses including respiratory conditions, sepsis, and multiple co-morbidities
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Telemetry, IMC, or MedSurg nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) only
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Telemetry or IMC setting
- Experience managing patients with respiratory illness, sepsis, or complex multi-comorbidity presentations
