Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM) | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | Weekend availability required (6 days per 6-week schedule period)
Key Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Emergency Department patients
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations effectively
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
- Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Current PALS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- Current TNCC certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Room or related nursing specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior travel nursing experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Familiarity with competency validation processes and preceptor-based onboarding programs
