Contract | Days or Evenings | Shifts are variable; typically 8 hours with potential flex to 10 or 12 hours based on operational need — no night shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled PACU nursing care across Phase I and Phase II recovery settings in an outpatient/ambulatory environment
- Manage post-anesthesia patient care including pain management and pre/post-operative assessment
- Deliver care to pediatric PACU patients as needed
- Maintain proficiency in Epic electronic health records charting
- Float to other affiliated facilities within the regional network as operationally required
- Complete non-billable orientation modules prior to start and annually as required
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License — must be in hand at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Minimum of 5 years of combined critical care and PACU experience
- Ambulatory/outpatient experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Two references from most recent employer must be provided at time of submission
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission; no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract and time off cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
- Local candidates are welcome and are considered on the same basis as travel candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification
- CAPA (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification
