Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, individualized patient and family-centered care, progressing patients toward self-identified goals using the nursing process
- Develop, implement, and adapt comprehensive, age- and culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Evaluate patient and family progress toward care goals, documenting responses and adjusting interventions as needed
- Identify and address patient and family educational needs through individualized education plans, applying adult-learning theory to assess readiness and barriers
- Serve as a patient advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights
- Delegate and coordinate care activities among healthcare team members within their scope of practice, communicating effectively to expedite patient progress and workflow
Required Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience working in an RN role
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a specialty nursing area
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and patient care conferencing
- Experience adapting nursing interventions to meet diverse socio-cultural needs
